Happy New Year! The new year always brings me so much joy. I love the energy I feel with a new beginning and a fresh start. I find myself reflecting on the past year, but more importantly, looking forward to the new year and how to set myself up to have my best year yet.

One of the New Year tasks that gets overlooked is updating and refreshing your website with the new year! Luckily for you it’s super easy to do, and makes a big difference in SEO and attracting your dream clients/customers!

Here are a couple things you can do today to get your website ready for the new year:

Let’s do this!

1. Update your copyright date

If you have a copyright date in your footer and it’s not this year’s date, you’ll want to change it. There’s two ways to do this.

One way is you can just manually type in the new date. Easy enough! You’ll have to remember to do it each year, but at least it’s only once a year and takes literally 2 seconds.

The other way is to change your copyright date to a code. Below is the code, it’s super easy and it will automatically change to reflect this year’s date:

2. Check your contact form

If you have a call to action that directs people to your contact form, then it’s SO important to make sure that it’s working correctly! Chances are it is, but it’s always best to check. Make sure that your information goes through to you and your CRM so you don’t lose out on any potential customers!

3. Fix any broken links

Broken links are an SEO bummer, so if your traffic relies on SEO at all, then look through your site and click those links! Update or remove any broken links that don’t lead to where they are supposed to. Be sure to update any URLs that point to a new page on your site if you updated pages this past year. And most importantly, make sure to check blog posts because any post links that lead to a 404 page will rank lower in google and frustrate your audience.

4. Update your offer

It’s a new year and you deserve a raise! Update your offer to reflect your knowledge, skills and value. Make sure your business is working for you and not the other way around. No shame in updating your offer or better yet, raise your rates! Your website should be your hardest working employee and marketing tool, attract your dream clients with a premium price for your amazing services!

5. Figure out if your website is doing exactly what you need it to do.

Like I mentioned before, your website is an employee of your business and a huge marketing tool. Evaluate to see if it’s acting the way it should. Is it leading customers to your Call to Action? Is it converting potential clients into paying customers? Is it sharing the valuable content you want your audience to learn?

If your website feels out of alignment with your business, maybe it’s time to redesign.

A website redesign can bring you more conversions, more people to your site and more money in your business. If you’re interested in learning more click the button below!
